No Answers, Only Problems
As populations increase, so does the need to produce energy to power our factories, light our homes and support of way of life.
E.On - the UK’s largest energy producer - Â have received approval from Kent Medway Council to build a coal fired power station capable of providing electricity to 1.5 million homes. The new power station will use carbon capture technology and will replace an existing coal power station with a net reduction in emissions of 20% (equivalent to removing half a million cars from the road), going some way towards meeting its pledge to reduce carbon emissions by half by 2030.
So far, so good.
However, green campaigners have attacked the scheme, going so far as to to chain themselves to the existing station’s conveyer belt to prevent it from burning coal, describing carbon capture as “not viable” and the new power station as “environmentally reckless”.
What perplexes the TalkClimateChange Red Team is this;
Green campaigners heavily object to plans to build more nuclear power stations. They heavily object to plans to build clean coal power stations. They criticise wind & wave energy production on the grounds of ecological damage. And they fail to recognise the fundamental fact that the world does indeed need energy to survive.
We would like to earnestly ask - what exactly is your solution?
We are somewhat exasperated by the fact that to date we have not seen one plausible, viable, practical, sensible solution to the theoretical climate change problem. If Greens want to be taken seriously, then please come up with serious solutions.

The Green Team cannot even tell you what they are asking for, nor do they even understand the mitigation proposals of the IPCC with targets of 450, 550 and 750ppm, let alone what they think we should do about it.
Right here in the forum is a great example of the Green Team working out a solution.
